Lisa Y.M. Leung is Assistant Professor at the Department of
Cultural Studies in Lingnan University, Hong Kong. She has published
articles on the localization of international women's magazines, and
the globalisation of the Chinese Satellite TV channels. Her recent
journal articles focus on the flow of media and cultural products
across Asia, including audience studies of Japanese and Korean trendy
television dramas in Hong Kong, in which she employs both gender and
cross-cultural approaches. Works include 'Romancing the Everyday:
Hong Kong Women Watching Japanese Dorama', and 'Approximating Trendiness:
the "Glocal" and the Everyday in Japanese and Korean dramas'.
Her coming book discusses the dynamics and challenges of glocalisation
in the local editions of international women's magazines. |
