Afghanistan is a landlocked country located within South Asia and central Asia occupying a total land area of 647,500 sq km, which is twice as large as Japan. In the north it borders with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, China in the far northeast, Pakistan in the south and east, and Iran in the west. After the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and Taliban regime, the elected government was established. However, antisocial forces such as Taliban disturb the peace and the public safety. Economically Afghanistan is a poor country dependent mainly on agriculture, livestock and international aid.
The upheaval of society has crippled its economy and public infrastructure.
