Actor Shinichi Chiba has established an acting school in Kyoto with a difference. This school is dedicated to "action drama". It takes only 20 students and holds auditions every May for new members. Those who make the grade come every day and support themselves through a variety of part-time jobs. Set in the fresh, green month of May, the program presents an interesting look at young people preparing for a future quite unlike that of most their peers.

Albino, or "white" animals, such as the famous white tiger, have recently begun to attract world-wide interest. Fifteen years ago, Mr.Toru Endoh, a dentist, became fascinated by the white monkey, which local legend says brings peace to the area. When he first began to study and observe this rarity, Endoh found four albino monkeys, of which the white monkey in this program is the only survivor. By documenting Endoh's years of personal study, this program shows and stresses the importance of protecting the natural environment of not only the white monkey, but all animals.

Taisetsuzan National Park in the northern island of Hokkaido is the last great wilderness left in Japan.
Summer in Taisetsuzan is brief but spectacular. The season is so short that as soon as the animals can leave their dens they hastily begin preparing for the next long winter. With the melting of the last traces of snow on the mountains, the vast flower fields burst into bloom. Their glorious colors carpet the peaks until summer leaves Taisetsuzan.

This is a documentary of the lives of two dogfish catchers who, although father and son, are the fiercest of rivals. Fishing for spiny dogfish on the freezing winter seas off Aomori in the north of Japan is not only dangerous and lonely but highly competitive work.
The father, Fujiemon, is considered the undisputed master dogfish catcher of the village, but his son Daisuke is fighting hard to take his place.
This documentary reveals the true love and respect between the father and son, despite their on-going feud and fierce rivalry.
