The Internet and TV Stations in the Asia-Pacific Region

Readers' Feedback (3)

Rie Ishii

Through the discussion, I understood that infrastructure development is indispensable for the diffusion of Internet TV. Copyright issues are also important, it exists area where Internet TV is not so popular even though broadband networks are developed. I have come to think that I want to know more in detail. TV programs retransmitted simultaneously are few now in comparison with TV programs provided in form of VOD.
When copyright issues will be solved, I wonder if programs retransmitted simultaneously as well as programs provided in form of VOD will increase.
A case of Sri Lanka especially showed me the importance of internet broadcasting.
The circumstances of internet broadcasting vary by countries and I could see here, social, cultural and geographic context. These reports are rich in content and very interesting for the reason that they are written by experts of each country. I learned a lot from this symposium.
