Giant masks from ancient times are stored at Shosoin, a repository in Todaiji Temple and at Horyuji, a temple in Nara. The curious expressions and lavish colors of these masks can only be described as strange and unusual. Who used the masks and for what purpose? The questions prompted by the existence of these masks stir the imagination. With roots in the masque of ancient Greece, gigaku traveled along the Silk Road, picking up aspects of local performing arts as the masked drama journeyed through Asia.

Hiroshima was reduced to nothing. Paul Tibbets piloted the Enola Gay, the B-29 bomber that dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima city. Tibbets, who until now had been reluctant to speak to the Japanese media, agreed to talk of his experiences.

A stray dog was hit by a car and was critically injured. He was rescued by a young couple in Kagoshima prefecture, Tsutomu Sakou and his wife Noriko. The aftereffect of the accident has left his hind legs paralyzed. the Sakous tried to find the dog's owner in vain. So they decided to try to make him able to walk by himself again. They made a wheelchair for him. The half paralyzed dog was named Maachan.

This is the story of Mio Shimizu, a brave 12-year-old girl with terminal cancer. Mio had a dream to create a picture book with a message for the children of the world. Mio wrote: I hope sick kids who are sad and lonely, will cheer up when they read my book. Maybe it will make eveyone realize how precious good friends are. On June 3, 2002, Mio's picture book "The Most Important Thing," was published. Sadly, she had passed away the day before. Mio's picture book tells an original story that she wrote. It is rapidly capturing the imaginations of children all over the country.
This program documents the last 100 days of Mio's short life, while she strives to make her dream come true. We watch Mio's parents do their best to support her dream and struggle with sadness as they wach the cancer slowly take the life of their beloved child.
