En Julio del 2012, una locomotora a vapor volvió a la Línea Tohoku en la Prefectura de Fukushima por primera vez en 45 años. Llenando el aire de humo negro a su paso por los campos de Fukushima, este majestuoso tren borró los malos recuerdos del Gran Terremoto del Este de Japón, un desastre que cambió drásticamente las vidas idílicas de los habitantes de Fukushima.
El proyecto bautizado como el Proyecto Sonrisa de Fukushima, fue puesto en funcionamiento gracias a los trabajadores de la Compañía Férrea del Este de Japón, para dar fuerza y esperanza a esta prefectura tan castigada por el desastre.
Una locomotora a vapor del tipo C61 que trabajó antaño en la Línea Tohoku fue resucitada para el proyecto llamado el Renacimiento de Fukushima Express, el tren fue operado por conductores de Aiza Wakamatsu.
Este documental sigue a los conductores trabajando durante el proyecto, compartiendo sus sentimientos mientras conducen el tren a vapor por su Prefectura de origen.
Locomotoras a vapor inspiran un sentimiento de asombro en niños y devuelven recuerdos a los más mayores. Operando entre las estaciones de Koriyama y Fukushima, El renacimiento de Fukushima Express llevaba las esperanzas de muchos y dio fuerzas a la gente de Fukushima que aun luchan contra los efectos del Gran Terremoto del Este de Japón. Más de 30000 personas rezando por la recuperación de Fukushima se reunieron a lo largo de la vía para saludar al tren en marcha.
Este programa cuenta los sentimientos de la gente al ver resucitar la locomotora a vapor y sigue al tren en su trayecto por la Prefectura en un día que trae coraje y emociones a una ciudad destrozada por el desastre: Fukushima.

Using animation, this unique course explores tsunami evacuation. An earthquake strikes when Takashi, a young boy, is alone at home. A large tsunami is approaching. The town will soon be flooded. What does Takashi do? Immediate evacuation is the key to surviving a tsunami. Should Takashi wait for a family member to return home or should he run to safety on his own? The animation inspires conversation and discussion concerning what is essential in order to save yourself and your family.

It's essential to be able to make your own decisions and immediately flee to a safe location. You should also beware of three things: flying objects, falling objects and moving objects. In this course, there's no right or wrong answer. As long as you save your life, you are correct. Let's work it out together!

This course is taught using the CROSSROAD GAME. A crossroad is the place where two or more roads intersect. The participants are presented with a predicament that requires a decision of either YES or NO. There's no right or wrong answer in this game. The purpose is to encourage players to: 1) imagine different disaster scenarios and think about how to deal with them; and 2) explore the subject further by talking with other players who have different opinions. Through discussion, let's find a solution together!

Using the earthquake early warning system as a theme, we learn about the nature of "seismic waves". In order to explain seismic waves, that are not visible to the naked eye, experimental apparatuses are set up to give better visualization, and characters Mr. P and Mr. S are introduced. Earthquakes and its mechanisms are explained in an easy to understand manner, tying the facts learned to how one can protect lives.
